Blue Canyon Country Club near the Phuket International Airport has been the championship course of choice in Phuket for many years. The course has for instance been home to the Johnny Walker Classic 3 times.
The first time Blue Canyon hosted Johnny Walker Classic was already back in 1994 when Phuket was much less developed as a tourist destination than it is today.
Hole 14 at the Canyon Course
Greg Norman became world number one after winning the tournament in 1994. Tiger Woods staged a famous comeback when winning the tournament in 1998. The most recent time the tournament was held in Phuket was in 2007 when Anton Haig took home the Johnny Walker Classic tournament.

The 17th par 3 hole at The Canyon Course was described by Fred Couples as one of the best par 3 holes anywhere in the world and has been nominated as one of the world's best par 3's by Golf Magazine.
